Hultafors Group Doubles Ladder Production in Sweden – Creating New Jobs in Nässjö

Hultafors Group is making a major investment to expand its ladder production capabilities in Sweden. With new equipment and advanced automation, production will be consolidated in Nässjö, creating more than ten new jobs starting in the first quarter of next year.

The Group has signed an agreement to acquire production machinery from Telesteps' current manufacturing partner in Fröseke. The machines will be relocated to the W.Steps facility in Nässjö, where a significant expansion is now underway.

“This is a strategic investment that strengthens our presence in Sweden and ensures our long-term competitiveness in the ladder segment. We aim to manufacture close to our markets, with a high degree of automation, full quality control and a strong sustainability focus,“

says Torbjörn Eriksson, President Hardware Europe and North America, Hultafors Group.

Nässjö to Become a Center of Excellence for Ladders

Four fully automated production cells will be installed, making Nässjö one of the most advanced ladder manufacturing sites in the industry. Total production capacity will double—from today’s 30,000 to up to 60,000 ladders per year—serving markets across Europe and North America.

“It’s fantastic that we’re able to grow industrial competence here in Nässjö. Welcoming new colleagues and developing a true center of excellence for ladders is something we’re very proud of,”

says Johan Fräjdin, Business Unit Director and Site Manager at W.Steps.

Sustainable Ladder Manufacturing – Safety in Every Step

At W.Steps, sustainability is a core part of both product development and manufacturing. The ladders are built to last and designed for maximum safety, with spare parts available to make repairs easy and extend product life. Materials are carefully selected, with recycled aluminum used in closed-loop processes and production waste minimized. All products are tested in-house to exceed industry standards—ensuring not only top-tier quality and performance, but also long-term, sustainable use.
